Omnea was founded in 2022 after Ben Freeman saw firsthand how broken procurement processes were while working at Tessian, a Sequoia-backed cybersecurity company that later sold to Proofpoint for hundreds of millions of dollars. At Tessian he worked closely with Abs (Tessian #2, CRO Tessian (exited: Proofpoint), VP Revenue Snowplow, VP Revenue Papercup), who is now Omnea’s Chief Commercial Officer, and Sabrina, now Chief Financial Officer (Tessian #4, CFO Tessian (exited: Proofpoint), COO Pento (exited: HiBob)).
The idea to fix procurement took shape when Ben later met co-founder Ben Allen at Entrepreneur First. Together they founded Omnea with the mission of building a modern platform that transforms how companies manage purchasing and procurement.
